More fish on the Fly...

by JAD 2. October 2012 04:19

Got to fish 5 straight days on the pond asbout 2 weeks ago now.  I need to start hauling out my camera a bit more, but when you are in the minutes of action between hours of boredom.  It's really hard to pull out the camera when scales and fish slime are flying and there's 20 tuna boiling within 30 ft of the boat.  Here's a couple pics taken from John L's camera between melee's.

What has my summer held...

by JAD 2. October 2012 02:07

My former life, "diesel mechanic"

So recently, I have been getting emails, texts, and other modern day digital marvels of communication saying things like, "hey, what have you been up to?" and "Haven't heard from you in a while?"  Or my latest favorite, "what's up with your BLOG?  I haven't had anything to look at while I am at work?

Well, the pic above says it all!

I posted my 1st tuna shot of the year back in June and since then, life has been a blur and not in a good way...

Shortly thereafter outdrive issues forced some major thinking and thanks to my partner, Larry K, we made a decision that took the boat out of the water for much of the summer, but leaves us with a 100% reliable solution going forward.  It's been a rough summer to say the least and with fall/winter closing in, I have taken every chance that I have to get the boat out on the Pacific for the last few weeks.  So here are a few picks of the project and the amount of time and money placed into it are astronomical.

For the past 3 weeks, OFF, LLC has been doing multi-day trout trips across the state of Oregon.  In trying to keep with our goal of providing the best quality experience for the dates at hand, we have fished a couple of different destinations.  Here are some of the memorable photos for our guided fishing adventures over the past month...many thanks to Mark C. for taking some great photos!

1st steelhead on the fly*

by Jad 25. January 2011 02:26

Fished yesterday with jace F of Newburg.  Jace has caught a couple of steelhead on conventional gear, but none on the fly.  While demonstrating a nymphing technique in the first pool of the morning, this fish took the fly.  The bright native jumped a couple of times and bent the Sage 7 wt. pretty well.  After a few minutes, we brought this fish to hand for a quick photo op prior to a quick release.
