Roosterfishing in Mexico

by Jad 13. April 2011 14:36

I'll be down in Mexico Roosterfishing starting May 21-June 20 and have an opening from May 21 to June 2, 2011.  You can also book trips with Trophy Fly Fishing. These trips are one of many saltwater fly fishing options that every fly fisherman should experiance. If you want to see what roosterfishing is like scroll down and look at the videos on this blog. What could be more exciting than driving down the beach in a dune buggy, spoting a fish, and sprinting to intercept it? Only the take and the first run where the fish heads back to the other side of the ocean! To book this awesome trip go to the roosterfishing part of this site here http://www.opportunityflyfishing.com/roosterfish-trips.aspx.

Roosterfishing Gear List 2011

by Jad 20. January 2011 02:34

With the Roosterfishing Season, just around the corner.  I get many requests about the gear needed.  In an effort to help out anglers, I am posting this gear list for public consumption.  If anyone needs any additional help or has questions, please let me know and I will help them out as best I can.  The Roosterfish IMO is as worthwhile a flyfishing target as the permit or Giant Trevally and depending upon conditions, can act like either one.  This wily critter will test your conditioning, casting, and patience...and once you are attached to one will provide an experience that you will not often forget.  They have the looks to match to.  If anyone is interested in heading to Baja this spring/summer, please contact me at jad@opportunityflyfishing or through Kaufmanns @ 503-639-6400.
